About Us

OGPEX(Petroexplore), an independent oil and gas exploration, development and business development service provider based in Thane City. This is led by Satya Nanda Mohanty, an industry veteran and seasoned geoscientist with excellent leadership qualities who has acquired wide experience in the field of exploration, development, and production and business development for Oil & Gas industries over 35 years all over the world.

OGPEX is aiming to bring powerful and result oriented scientific work to achieve utmost success for exploration of hydrocarbon and development of oil & gas fields.

Vision & Mission

  1. Carry out exploration, development and production of hydrocarbon work in synergetic approach by integrating geology and geo-scientific data with due diligence.
  2. Application of cutting edge technology in the ever widening frontiers of Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in cost effective manner.
  3. Innovation of new solutions to resolve the challenging problems in seismic API, Geology, drilling, testing, production and evacuation of hydrocarbon to reduce CAPEX and OPEX drastically.
  4. Convert liabilities to assets in the present oil and gas market scenarios.

Objectives & Service Provided

  1. Exploration work:

    • Seismic, well, geo-scientific data loading to workstation, conditioning and validating the data for interpretation in synergetic approach by integrating geology and geo-scientific data is carried out by using focused process/ micro-process in systematic approach with due diligence for generation of potential hydrocarbon prospect. Integration of geoscientific data with seismic data in 2D & 3D seismic interpretation starting from well tie and synthetic seismogram generation for calibration the geological, well logs & geophysical data, evaluations the hydrocarbon prospectivity of the acreage, identification of new lead & potential hydrocarbon bearing prospects, recommendation for drilling of the prospects, field appraisal, firm up resource models, quantify uncertainties and associated risks, validation of prospectivity and 3rd party evaluation of prospects/leads of the blocks are prime job by utilizing- geological understanding of the area with risk assessment and mitigation.
    • The relationship of the Geology, plate tectonics & paleogeography with genetic correlation of play and reservoir in regional scale as well as in local scale are done with due diligence, detail understanding of regional geology for basin study and evaluation, regional tectonics settings, basin evolution, total petroleum system analysis and establishment of play fairways in the entire basin level as well as block level and sand models etc are also carried out depending upon the requirement. Log evaluation, geological Model, petrophysical analysis, sequence boundary mapping, fault identification & fault correlation, horizon mapping, sand mapping, genetic correlation of sands and structural reconstruction with age and sequence stratigraphy, hydrocarbon potential sand mapping including growth fault regime, identification of leads and prospect and up-gradation of leads to prospects on the basis of scientific study are invariable carried out as minimum requirement of the client.
    • Hydrocarbon exploration is a high risk investment and risk assessment & mitigation (AVO, DHI and seep study) are key for success. Portfolio analysis, define the priorities and firm up key milestones on the basis of envisage success, formulate the resource development concepts & firm up hydrocarbon potential prospects and prioritize them from success point of view and proposal for exploratory drilling, pore pressure prediction, prognosis & GTO preparation, validation of the work through technical review and presentations to management are done meticulously for each prospects for achieving each milestone. Well monitoring during drilling, Log analysis & petrophysical evaluation and decision for well completion & perforation, post drill analysis can also be carried out. Declaration of discovery and its commerciality report can be prepared and presented to the nodal authority.
    • We have capability of releasing of hydrocarbon potential drilling locations and can obtain requisite approvals from nodal & regulatory authority for drilling after proper delegation and presentation of prospectivity.
    • Validation of reserve after drilling and risk sharing (Farm out) or relinquishment on the basis of techno-economics can be carried out to facilitate the client.
  2. Development work:

    • Reserves booking with geology & interpretation review of commercial discovered fields: Generation of maps for all potential reservoir of the fields, validation of reserve number by using static model are carried out utilizing all seismic, geological, petrophysical & production data to update reserves workbook.
    • Preparation of optimal development strategy & plan, different production scenarios and computation of petroleum economics (reserve portfolio, CAPEX, OPEX, NPV and IRR, etc.) can be presented for approval of the project. Preparation of FDP for submission to the nodal agencies can be done to obtain approval for exploitation of oil and gas.
    • Oil field development & production: Geocellular static modeling for reserve / resource estimation, dynamic modeling and simulation for well planning, reservoir performance and field optimization, assessment of production profile, drainage area assessment, and evaluation of flow potential, well completion strategy can be done for each field to achieve envisaged production.
    • Release of development location for drilling on the basis of geocellular static, dynamic modeling and simulation results from time to time and work over requirement for existing wells to maintain production. Pore pressure prediction, well proposal / prognosis, well monitoring during drilling, Log analysis & petrophysical evaluation and decision for well completion & perforation, post drill analysis can also be carried out.
  3. Business Development:

    • Evaluate current / new acreage portfolio using above exploration and development concept, meticulous assessment of initial technical evaluation report to resource/ reserve with due diligence, petroleum economics (reserve portfolio, CAPEX, OPEX, NPV and IRR, etc.) recommend farm in / farm out / partnership activity and also bid of new acreages all over the world for the client.
    • Scanning of the PSC, contractor’s obligations in terms of statutory payments, regulatory compliances, physical Work program commitments and financial commitments, host Government / Regulator’s obligations, cost recovery processes and unitization procedures.
    • Procurement & Contract: Expertise in exploration & development related contracts for service & procurement and finalization of service & procurement contract.
  4. Research and Software Development:

    • Research and development work on heterogeneity of the reservoirs to address the challenging problem for prediction of porosity, permeability, well deliverability and production rate within the reservoir with precision.
